  1. On a trip to Sicily in 2005, I had the pleasure of meeting a brilliant tour guide named Sabrina Lo Piano. We became fast friends because we shared a love of all things Sicilian. This knowledgeable young woman filled my journey with prideful information as we traveled the island visiting significant points of interest to both of us. More than historical facts, Sabrina related the historical feelings and experiences of those who traveled the same routes as those we were enjoying. Of course her command of and fluency in various languages made all of this possible, since although my parents spoke to me in Sicilian when I was a girl, my verbal skills in the language are now minimal at best. I cannot praise her abilities and knowledge enough. I heartily encourage anyone seeking the best visit to Sicily possible, to call upon her. If so, you will be provided with a lifetime of precious memories, and if you are as lucky as I am, a friend for life as well.
